About us

Pilgrim Foods was envisaged on a hitch hiking | hiking | camping trip across the beautiful landscapes of Tasmania. Then elaborated on, on a rainy night bundled in the car after a knee injury on the marvelling Cape to Cape track.

We discovered that as food lovers, nothing we bought really satisfied us, we missed real flavours, multiple veggies and the warmth and nurturance that homemade food offered.

We’d spent many a nights huddled in our tents cold from our impractical hiking equipment choices, exploring the depths of our minds and tummies for that mouth watering craving which would satisfy and transcend us to that magical place which would make us forget that a +12 sleeping bag in -3 degrees snow wasn’t so bad.

We wanted to be able to offer delicious plant-based, nutrient rich food, dehydrated, without the excessive plastic packaging, without much waste.

So as the years past, adventures happened and this dream percolated, Covid arrived and I decided that It was time to start putting my dreams into action.
